This species is one of over 22,000 land snail species. They enjoy a temperature of 25°C (77°F) with humid conditions. Adult snails can, when extended out of their shells reach 12 inches (30cm) and move by a series of muscular contractions on their foot. Their diet consists of fresh fruit and vegetables, consumed in the redula organ by small rasping teeth in the mouth. Snails need calcium carbonate for maintaining strong shells; we usually feed our snails cuttlefish bone.

 Snails are hermaphrodite, which means they can be both male and female.
