Frequently Asked Questions

Which areas in the UK do you cover?

We primarily serve Hertfordshire and its surrounding areas from our base. This encompasses the entirety of Hertfordshire, a significant portion of North London, and select areas within Essex and Bedfordshire within a 25-mile radius. However, our ability to accommodate bookings in these areas depends on our assessment of ensuring the comfort of our animals during transit.

Please note that we are unable to attend venues or homes located beyond a 1-hour car journey from our base. This restriction is in place to ensure the well-being of our animals, particularly our cold-blooded reptiles, who require a consistent heat source for warmth. Long-distance travel can impose undue stress on these animals, thus necessitating a limit on travel distance.

How do I make a booking?

To initiate a booking, kindly send us an email containing the following details: your desired date, postcode of the venue, and the type of performance you require (e.g., birthday party, wedding, school visit). We will endeavour to respond promptly to your inquiry.

For urgent inquiries requiring immediate assistance, please feel free to contact us directly at 07437 122990. We will ensure a swift response to your query.

Are there restrictions to age and guest numbers?

We prioritize the welfare of our animals by limiting the number of participants to minimize stress.

For children's parties, our capacity is restricted to a maximum of 15 children. This limitation is due to the specific nature of the animals in our care. Therefore, we kindly request that hosts carefully consider this information before extending invitations.

We advise that no more than 10-15 children participate in the party for an optimal experience.

With an unwavering commitment to safety, please be advised that our animal parties are strictly aged 7 and above. This age restriction ensures an environment conducive to both the well-being of our animals and the safety of all participants.

Are you insured?

We are proud to inform you that we maintain a comprehensive insurance coverage, including £5,000,000 in public liability as well as employers liability insurance. Additionally, we are fully licensed by the Hertsmere Borough Council, with license number HBC-KTE-004.

In adherence to legal requirements and our commitment to transparency, we carry physical copies of both our license and insurance documents at all times. Should you wish to view these documents, we are more than happy to provide them upon request.

We strongly advise that when considering a mobile zoo company for your event, you ensure they possess the appropriate license. This not only ensures compliance with legal standards but also assures that the company undergoes regular inspections to uphold animal welfare standards.

Can I have my party outside?

The feasibility of hosting encounters indoors or outdoors is contingent upon weather conditions and our discretion.

Should you opt for an outdoor setting for your party or event, it is imperative to arrange for a marquee or gazebo equipped with sides. This precaution is necessary due to the unpredictable nature of British weather.

Furthermore, we recommend having an available indoor space within your home as a contingency in case adverse weather conditions necessitate moving the event indoors.

Which animals will you bring?

We strive to foster an appreciation for a diverse range of animal species. Our presentations typically include a variety of mammals, reptiles, insects, and amphibians. Please note that the selection of animals we bring may be influenced by factors such as weather conditions and travel distance.

For further information regarding the animals featured in our current line-up, we invite you to visit our "Meet the Animals" page. There, you can peruse our guestlist and familiarize yourself with the fascinating creatures that may be part of our presentation.

How much space do you need?

Whether its your home or a venue we can accommodate most spaces, our animals will arrive in secure boxes that we hide behind our posters until their grand unveiling.

There just needs to be enough space for the children to sit in a semi-circle.

Can we stroke/pet all the animals?

When it comes to children's parties due to the safety of our animals we typically only allow the birthday child to hold every animal whilst the other children are welcome to stroke/pet/feed the majority of the animals we will be bringing.

When it comes to the venomous species (Tarantula/Scorpion) we do not let anyone hold these two invertebrates for the safety of the guests.

Can we choose the animals we want?

If there is a particular type of animal you are hoping for, do let us know at the time of booking. We will try our very best to bring specific animals, but our animals are rotated so individuals may not be available.

Can you attend events other than birthday parties?

Yes of course! We can cater for classroom learning, corporate events, weddings, fetes and filming work. If you have any doubt about your event, just give us a call.

Will the animals make a mess?

We provide a sizable, wipeable ground sheet to safeguard your venue's floor against any potential mess that may arise from our animals. In the event of an accident, rest assured that we will promptly clean up the area using appropriate disinfectants and techniques.

Are there any health and safety issues we should be aware of?

We prioritize the hygiene of our animals and encourage thorough handwashing practices among participants during our shows. It is essential to adhere to health and safety guidelines, which necessitate the availability of handwashing facilities.

Throughout our presentations, we consistently emphasize the significance of handwashing when interacting with animals. Clear instructions regarding hand hygiene are provided at the outset and conclusion of each show or presentation to ensure understanding and compliance among our audiences.

Is photography allowed at the events?

Certainly! While we welcome the use of photography during our presentations, we kindly request that flash photography be kept to a minimum, particularly around certain mammals. Flash photography has the potential to startle visually sensitive animals, and we aim to create a comfortable environment for all our animal guests. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
